Perception of Time

The human brain develops the perception of time shortly after birth and we possess no sense of time before that point. Similar to the state of a dreamless night or a patient who is in a deep coma. Those periods appear like jumps between moments with no collection of time in between. We often experience mild loss of localization (Dyschronometria) during intense neural activities such as recollection of puzzling memories, under stress, or calm.

Fluctuating mental states result in a fluctuating sense of time, feels like it slows down, and rapids up. ‘Perception of Time’ illustrates the irregularities between the subjective and objective flow of time.
